Helmet Turtle Art

The first, the original, fun, funky and always very unique. Inspired by this artist grandfather, who witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor firsthand in the second world war. Grandpa Willy always said, "War happens so suddenly. Peace moves slowly." When we first saw the sea of army helmets in a surplus yard, these words resonated with the thought that the green helmets looked like turtle shells. Peace moves slowly...like a turtle moves. And thus the first turtle was born, still the most popular of the helmet art. These products are made of steel and recycled parts, they are designed to continue to rust if put outdoors.
